Onshore Britain Geochemical Database
The Onshore Britain Database has been compiled from data released onto the Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) website, in collaboration with Shell and Exxon. IGI has systematically catalogued and where necessary digitized, all these data and compiled them into p:IGI-3, the industry standard application for petroleum geochemical databasing and interpretation.
The database comprises data for 1354 samples from 152 wells, including 53 oil and gas samples and 1301 rock analyses. TOC content is reported for 446 samples with many of these also having additional Rock Eval pyrolysis data. Maturity data in the form of vitrinite reflectance values and maceral descriptions are present for 580 samples and 45 samples respectively. Carbon isotope and GC-MS data are reported for around 30 samples. In addition well data, including location and stratigraphy, have been collected and integrated where possible.
The Onshore Britain Geochemical Database is provided with a Well Manager file containing available basic well information for all wells. This allows the user to seamlessly add samples from proprietary or in-house sources to the database, and assign uniform stratigraphy, map coordinates and other well information. The dynamic database automatically updates all plots on sample addition to minimize reaction time between data acquisition and interpretation.
