Carlos arrived in IGI in 2017, coming from Portugal. Carlos spent most of his years in Coimbra, where he graduated in Biology and Software Engineering, also dedicating those years to the Fado music, being part of multiple musical groups within the university's academic association.

After working for 5 years as a biologist, first as a Parkinson's disease researcher in San Francisco - USA, and then as a blood stem cells cryopreservation technician, in Coimbra - Portugal, his interests have turned to programming. He then undertook a Software Engineering graduation course at Coimbra Institute of Engineering and then moved to Lisbon to work as a technical consultant / full stack programmer, specializing in Java and JavaScript.

Looking for new challenges, he then got accepted to the IGI family, moved to Birmingham and is now developing new and exciting features for p:IGI+, Metis Transform and Metis Discover.
