Sal Cornford
Company director, administration
As company secretary, Sal has been responsible for the financial health and well-being of the company from setup in 1983.
At present Sal organises and promotes IGI's software marketing and sales activities. In this role, she liaises with clients, organises sales trips, training, support and the annual p:IGI User Group Meeting.
Being overall in charge of company administration, Sal is a useful first port of call for general queries and enjoys making sure IGI's busy geoscientists (especially Chris!) respond in a timely fashion.
The arrangements for both multi-client and proprietary training courses should be sent to Sal. She is responsible for the organisation of field trips but since she likes to walk alone in the countryside - not the presentation!
Sal was very much involved with the organisation of the IMOG 2007 Conference. She was Conference Secretary for the 1993 (inaugural) Geofluids international meeting, and has been secretary for meetings of both the Ussher and British Organic Geochemical Societies.
When not engaged in IGI's activities, Sal also provides back-up in the running of the Hallsannery Centre ( www.Hallsannery.co.uk). In whatever time is left, Sal occupies herself looking after the grandchildren, livestock, gardening and walking on the coast paths.
Sal absorbing geology in the only way she knows!
