Raingard Haberer

Senior Petroleum Geochemist & Basin Modeller

Raingard got her diploma in Geology in 2001 at the Eberhard-Karl University of Tübingen, Germany. After that she joined the organic geochemistry group at the German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam as a PhD student researching microbial communities associated with gas hydrates in the deep subsurface in the Canadian permafrost zone. Later, as a PostDoc, she was engaged in an international industry partnership project dealing with the prediction and quantification of the extent of post-filling petroleum alteration processes in reservoirs in the North Sea and offshore Brazil.

Since Raingard joined IGI in 2010 she has been working as a petroleum geochemist and basin modeller. Her work includes the interpretation of molecular geochemical data (oil-oil, oil-source rock correlation, petroleum biodegradation and source rock characterisation) and the analysis and assessment of petroleum systems in various parts of the world by integrating the geochemical results into basin modeling.
In addition Raingard supports IGI’s software development team as a geochemical expert. She also gives p:IGI software training courses and provides support for p:IGI users.
