Peter Hutchings

Programmer

Peter joined IGI in April 2007 primarily to support and enhance the p:IGI Geochemical Software.

Over a period of 7 years attempting to be a professional student, Peter gained an MSc in Communication Systems from University of Wales, Swansea (1994), a BEng (Hons) degree in Communications Engineering from Plymouth University (1992) and a HND in Engineering from Nene College, Northampton (1989).
Eventually the world of working-for-a-living caught up with him. Peter has had software roles for various companies in the South-West, including BAe Systems. A variety of software projects have included military real-time applications, PC-based software packages and more recent involvement in a safety product for the latest London Underground trains.

At IGI Peter designs & develops our in-house interpretation software and is solely responsible for all aspects of programming. He continues to provide the high standards of innovative software solutions, addressing both geochemical and systems issues, that clients have enjoyed over the years.

When not trying to de-stress on the tennis court, Peter also manages software testing and compatibility as well as supporting the implementation of software license protection and technical support for clients.

As a footnote and contrary to popular ‘computer programmer’ folklore, Peter doesn’t spot trains or have an anorak but he does play World of Warcraft!
