Newcastle University Wessex Basin Field Trip
Paul Farrimond recently spent 3 days (2nd-4th March) as co-leader of the annual M.Sc. in Petroleum Geochemistry field trip to Dorset. A group of 15 students from Newcastle University enjoyed excellent weather whilst studying oil seeps, reservoir rocks and source rocks on the Jurassic Coast.

New geochemist joins IGI
We are pleased to say that IGI has recruited Raingard Haberer as a petroleum geochemist. Raingard joined us in mid January from GFZ Potsdam, Germany, and has particular expertise in crude oil characterization and biodegradation, especially in the North Sea.
Matthias Keym joins Shell
We are sorry to announce that Matthias left IGI in November to join Shell in Rijswijk, The Netherlands. We all wish him all the very best for the future.
