IGI Buzzards Fly High as they Raise £410 for local Hospice Charity
On the evening of the 5 March the IGI Buzzard’s along with 74 other teams (4-6 people) set out on a clear but distinctly chilly evening from Exford to take part in the Ilfracombe Rotary Club organised StarTrek Charity Night Walk over Exmoor National Park. (pointy ears not included)
Supporting this year’s charity of choice, the North Devon Hospice, 3 employees; Andrew Green, Anthony Jones and Gion Kuper, along with an external team member Chris Green completed the 16mile navigational/orienteering challenge while raising £410 for the care of local individuals and families faced with the impact of a life-threatening illness.
Performing well together and with sprits high throughout, aided by a plentiful supply of homemade flat jacks from Anthony’s sister, the team successfully completed 6 course legs while also collecting clues and answering questions en-route.
