ig.NET

IGI has completely overhauled the ig.NET browser-based petroleum geochemical manual to produce a completely new software product that is designed to be the ultimate information resource for a whole range of geoscientists involved in the petroleum industry, from non-specialists through to specialist geochemists.

Whereas the original ig.NET was written within HTML pages that could be viewed using any net browser, we have now built a completely self-contained software package with greatly enhanced functionality and features for the user. We have also extensively rewritten, expanded and updated the geochemical content. ig.NET holds hundreds of pages of information that will empower exploration and production geologists, reservoir engineers and other E&P staff to address geochemical elements of their work from sampling, via analysis, to interpretation and application. For more detailed interpretation, the package will prompt the geologist to ask pertinent questions of the specialist geochemist, whilst the specialist will find it an extremely useful source of background information and reference sources.

• Most pages are hyperlinked to other pages and contain figures, graphs, animations or tables
• Citations are hyperlinked to full entries in the extensive up-to-date bibliography; a full reference is also displayed as a tooltip when hovering over citations in the text
• Extensive navigational features: a page tree and breadcrumb navigator ensure that you are always aware of your current position in the manual
• Search the entire manual or the current page
• Bookmark your favourite pages, and organize them in subfolders
• Open as many pages as you like in different tabs, each with its own browsing history
• Quickly find key figures from the thumbnails on the List of Figures page
• An in-built unit converter allows dynamic conversion of petroleum geological units
