IGI's Software Plans
We have been developing our software plans extensively since Dan Cornford joined IGI in April 2011. We are now actively developing three pieces of software to support your geochemistry needs:
These three software developments complement each other, but require distinct functionality. In the future they will integrate increasingly closely to provide you with a complete solution to all your geochemical needs.
p:IGI+
We have been focussing on the successor to p:IGI-3, which we aim to release in late 2013. This new version of p:IGI, rewritten from the ground up using modern software development methods and technology, will be a step change in what is possible with geochemistry interpretation software. You'll be able to:
p:IGI+ will also retain all of the great features in p:IGI-3 such as samplesets, palettes and autographs and we'll be adding undo! Even better news is that all of this will be a free upgrade to anyone who has paid support and maintenance for p:IGI-3, despite p:IGI+ being an entirely new product.
Data management
Alongside p:IGI we are developing a data management solution for geochemistry data, including support for a huge range of geochemical properties from GC, GC-MS, isotope analysis etc, but also including support for images, logs and other data types. This will allow you to:
The development of the data management software started in January 2012, and is due for release in late 2013 following testing in IGI. Alongside the data management software we are planning to develop improved capabilities to undertake data compilation projects, and even offer services to manage your corporate geochemistry data.
ig.NET
We are also investing in ig.NET, our geochemistry knowledge base, to improve the content in terms of better, more modern treatments of geochemistry and widening the scope of the material. We are also developing the software to improve the search functionality and improve links between ig.NET and p:IGI+.
