Charitable Support

IGI has a long history of supporting annually the following charities:

Our selection of charities is based on a belief in the benefits of long term commitment to low level activities at the village and family level.

IGI is also pleased to support the local comprehensive school, Bideford College with its science specialisation, both with time and finance.

After the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Peru, IGI have given a donation to the Shelterbox charity. ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that delivers emergency shelter, warmth and dignity to people affected by disaster worldwide. IGI's donation paid for 2 shelterboxes and helped towards a 3rd. The shelterboxes can be tracked by the following numbers. 50338 50339 50352

On June 12th/13th Dan Cornford took part in the 2010 Care 3 Peaks Challenge http://www.carechallenge.org.uk/IT. This is a demanding 24 hour trek up and down Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in the UK to raise funds for Care International UK, a charity focussed on tackling poverty around the world. Dan works with IGI on p:IGI software development and we were delighted to hear that he completed the challenge in 23 hours and 40 minutes, despite describing his training regime as "sitting at a keyboard, typing on a keyboard, staring at a screen, talking, more talking and a bit of chat". IGI are pleased to donate £100 and to match IGI staff donations by a further £100.

IGI are pleased to donate £500 to support ActionAid's 'Pakistan Floods Appeal'. ActionAid are currently distributing emergency supplies of food, water, sanitation and shelter to flood victims in rural Pakistan. For more information on the work carried out by ActionAid please go to their website www.actionaid.org.uk.

IGI are pleased to support Scott Hanselman with a £50 donation. Scott will be taking part in the American Diabetes Association 'Step Out' fund raising event in September 2010 http://www.hanselman.com/blog/TeamHanselmanAndDiabetesWalk2010.aspx . Scott's technical web blog is a favourite of our own software designer, Anthony Jones, so good luck Scott in reaching your target of $50,000.
